SE22 Piano School Trip to perform on stage at Cadogan Hall with the Southbank Sinfonia Orchestra.

We spent a very exciting morning in Sloane Square meeting up bright and early to go backstage at Cadogan Hall to rehearse with the Southbank Sinfonia Orchestra. Hannah led a fantastic workshop for us with 5 of the orchestra’s players. We did lots of clapping and singing games to prepare us for a performance of “Happy Birthday” and Jacques Ibert’s “Little Donkey”. Alice, Lucia and Inigo were thrilled to perform as a piano trio during Happy Birthday and had the opportunity to perform on the huge Steinway infront of a packed audience.

This was the biggest turnout so far for the Saturday Spectaculars and we had such a brilliant time that we can’t wait to go back! Our next school trip will be a return to Cadogan Hall on Saturday the 8th of October, 2011 for the Fireworks performance.

Here are the rehearsal and live performances of Happy Birthday and Little Donkey:

If you enjoyed performing on stage, do please consider joining the Family Friends Scheme which costs £5 a month to join and gives you the chance to perform on stage and much more!

  2. This is great. Young children should be expose more frequently to music than to other stuff. Is this piano school trip will be available in other school? This will be fun and educational.

  3. Definitely – it can be lonely being a pianist! We are planning another two trips this year.

    Thanks for stopping by!
