Exam day today! So here’s a silly clip of Lang Lang playing ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ on the iPad

TODAY IS EXAM DAY! I’m just heading off to Blackheath Conservatoire to accompany a lovely young saxophonist called Julia on her Grade 2 and then all my pupils will be popping along for their exams. Today we have lots of Piano Prep Test students, Grade 1 & grade 2 and tomorrow at Camberwell we have more Prep Test and Grade 4 students.

I thought we should start today with a funny clip of Lang Lang playing on an iPad infront of a packed audience at a recital! Lang Lang is a very famous pianist and an amazing performer, full of vibrancy and energy. He’s performing in London soon, you should go see him! He’s organising some very special events at the Southbank Centre including a massed piano event on the 22nd of May.

All my students know I love my iPad, it’s so useful during teaching for all the notenaming apps and music theory apps that we do on it. So here’s a clip of Lang Lang playing ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ on the iPad using Smule’s Magic Piano app which costs 99 cents.

If you want to see Lang Lang when he is in London, click here to find out more about buying tickets. He is playing at The Southbank Centre on May 17th 2011 for one night only! Tickets for ages 15 – 25 are £7. Other tickets are £11 – £55.
