Claire Harris has joined The SE22 Piano School and is teaching here on Thursdays and Fridays.
Claire started learning the piano at the age of four and has a classical training, gaining a Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2005. She completed her undergraduate music degree at the New Zealand School of Music and graduated with first class honours in 2009.
Claire is currently studying at the Royal College of Musicwhere she will is working towards a Masters Degree in Collaborative Piano.
She has been teaching piano for 5 years to students of all ages, from beginners through to Grade 8 level. As well as the classical exam curriculum, she really enjoys introducing students to jazz and other popular styles of music.
Claire performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist and loves performing contemporary as well as classical repertoire.
Claire’s popularity since starting here in January 2012 has found her with a fully booked timetable on Thursdays and Fridays. Her students range in age from 3 to 10 and span complete beginners to Grade 2 ABRSM. She also teaches Rockschool examinations.
