Composer of the Week: Einojuhani Rautavaara

Einojuhani Rautavaara (born October 9, 1928 in Helsinki) is a Finnish composer of contemporary classical music, and is one of the most notable Finnish composers after Jean Sibelius.

One of my favourite pieces of his is The Fire Sermon piano sonata, particularly the third movement that starts at 7’56”.
